Billing and data usage
How the data allowance is granted, metered, and reset, and how to add data, set caps, and get alerts.
Each organization has one data allowance per billing cycle. Every credential in the organization draws from it.
Allowance
Your plan's included data (see pricing) is the allowance for the cycle. At the start of each cycle it resets to the plan amount. Unused data does not roll over.
Custom agreements can include non-expiring credit. It is spent after the cycle allowance runs out and survives cycle boundaries. It appears as its own line on the billing page.
Adding data
You can add data to the current cycle from the billing page, at your plan's per-GB rate. It is available immediately. Each plan has a per-cycle limit on how much can be added, shown on the billing page. Added data is part of the cycle allowance and expires with it.
Access
Credentials pass traffic only while the plan is active and paid through the current period. If the subscription is cancelled or a renewal fails, credentials are suspended when the period ends, even if data is left. They are re-enabled when a paid renewal lands.
Metering
Bytes are counted in both directions, request and response. Everything sent through the tunnel once it is open is measured. That includes the TLS handshake and the encrypted request and response, headers and bodies. The CONNECT request and the SOCKS5 handshake themselves are not counted.
One byte of traffic is one byte of allowance. It can take a few seconds for the dashboard to reflect live traffic.
When the allowance reaches zero, credentials stop passing traffic until the next renewal or until data is added. There is no overage billing.
Per-credential limits
Any credential can have a daily and/or monthly limit, set in GB from its settings. The daily limit resets at midnight UTC, the monthly limit at the start of the UTC month. A credential with no limit is bounded only by the organization's allowance.
Low-balance alerts
When remaining allowance drops below the organization's threshold, the organization's owners are emailed. The threshold is a percentage of the plan's included data, 10% by default, and can be changed or turned off on the Organization page. One alert is sent per drop below the threshold; another is sent only after the allowance recovers above it and drops again.
Reading usage
The dashboard shows the organization's remaining allowance and each credential's usage in GB. The API returns the same figures in bytes: remaining data and cycle dates from the organization endpoint, and per-day series from the usage endpoints.
