Account & billing
Organizations, users, and credentials
What a user account, an organization, a proxy credential, and an API key each control.
User account
The email and password you sign in with. A user can belong to several organizations and switches between them in the header. User accounts do not connect to the proxy.
Organizations
An organization owns the data allowance, the billing history, and the proxy credentials. All traffic from its credentials draws from its allowance.
Every user gets a personal organization at sign-up. Create another when a team or project needs its own allowance and members.
Roles:
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Member | Create credentials, rename them, set limits, enable and disable them, view usage |
| Admin | Everything a member can, plus billing, deleting credentials and rotating passwords, and managing members and the organization name |
| Owner | Everything an admin can, plus deleting the organization |
Proxy credentials
A credential is a username and password used to connect to the proxy. It belongs to the organization, not to the user who created it. Each credential has its own usage figures and optional daily and monthly limits, and can be disabled, rotated, or deleted without affecting the others.
API keys
An API key belongs to a user. It has that user's access in every organization they belong to, or in one organization if it was limited at creation. Removing a user from an organization removes their keys' access to it. Keys are created on the Account page. See the API reference.
